OUR STORY

From complex systems to a foundational question

VyomIC is led by alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras who previously led Avishkar Hyperloop, where they built one of the world’s largest academic hyperloop testing facilities, including a 420-meter integrated track, tube, and vacuum ecosystem capable of supporting high-speed system validation at scale.

The team secured USD 1.25 million in funding, including ₹8.33 crore from the Ministry of Railways (India), demonstrating strong capability in deep-tech execution, large-scale infrastructure development, and government-funded program delivery.

Building on this experience, the founders later ventured into autonomous drone swarms, developing and deploying a fleet of 60 drones along with an in-house RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) positioning system capable of centimeter-level accuracy, real-time correction transmission, and synchronized swarm operations. Through these deployments, they identified a significant gap in existing GNSS infrastructure for reliable, high-precision navigation in emerging autonomous systems.

This insight led to the creation of VyomIC, which is now developing India’s first private LEO-PNT satellite constellation to deliver secure, high-precision, and sovereign positioning and timing services.

The name VyomIC draws from Vyom, the Sanskrit word for space, and IC, standing for Indian Constellation.
